Maximilian Maeder, Singapore's star kitefoiler, has won his third world title. The 19-year-old Olympic bronze medalist clinched the Formula Kite World Championships in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, on Saturday.
Maeder finished ahead of Switzerland's Gian Stragiotti. He won previous titles in 2023 and 2024, having taken silver last year to Italy's Riccardo Pianosi.
"I have such a wonderful team behind me. Of course, I always say I'm such a fortunate person, but yes, I've been trying my very best to make the most out of it," Maeder said after the race.
The victory caps a stellar week. Maeder dominated the opening series, earned a direct spot in Saturday's final, and sealed the win in straight races.
This year, he has also won the Trofeo Princesa Sofia and the Formula Kite title at the French Olympic Week.
