Santos head coach Cuca believes Neymar is on track for Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad after the veteran forward impressed in a 2-0 Copa do Brasil win over Coritiba.
Neymar provided an assist in Wednesday’s victory, his first start since returning from injury. Cuca praised the 34-year-old’s tactical evolution, saying he is no longer the same dribbler but now creates chances with intelligence and positioning.
Brazil opens Group G against Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. Neymar faces a final audition Sunday against Coritiba before coach Carlo Ancelotti names the 26-man squad on Monday.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs June 11-July 19 across the US, Mexico, and Canada. The final will be held at New York New Jersey Stadium.
