Shohei Ohtani has joined an exclusive club of baseball's greatest hitters, extending his on-base streak to 52 consecutive games. The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar achieved this milestone on April 20th, by either a hit or a walk, against the Colorado Rockies.
This impressive streak, which began in August 2025, now ties Ohtani with Shin-Soo Choo and 10 other players, including Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, and Tris Speaker. It places him tied for the 28th-longest on-base streak in Major League Baseball history.
As Ohtani continues his pursuit, reaching 53 games would place him in a tie for 23rd with Alex Rodriguez. Further milestones would see him climb into the top 10 all-time, a list dominated by legends like Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio, whose streaks reached 73, 74, and an astonishing 84 games respectively.
Ohtani is now just one game away from reaching the top 25 longest on-base streaks in MLB history.
