The New Orleans Saints have signed former No. 2 overall draft pick Zach Wilson to a one-year contract, according to reports. The 26-year-old will serve as the backup to starting quarterback Tyler Shough.

Wilson spent last season with the Miami Dolphins, appearing in four games. Previously, he started 33 games for the New York Jets, posting a 12-21 record. The Saints aim to strengthen their roster as they target the NFC South title and a playoff berth.

Wilson joins a quarterback room featuring Shough and Spencer Rattler, a 2024 fourth-round draft pick. Shough impressed last season despite a history of injuries during his college career.
