Todd Monken, the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns, is impressed with quarterback Shedeur Sanders' development heading into his second NFL season. Monken told reporters Wednesday that Sanders has 'come miles' in terms of progressions, getting the ball out, and understanding concepts.

The Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He became the starter late last season after Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel preceded him. He won his first career start against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Competing with Sanders for the starting job is Deshaun Watson, who is returning from an Achilles injury that sidelined him for the 2025 season. Monken noted Watson's athleticism is a 'superpower.' Both quarterbacks are taking split first-team reps at OTAs.

Monken says he hopes to name a starter by the start of training camp in July.
