Union Berlin has appointed Marie-Louise Eta as interim coach until the end of the season. The 34-year-old becomes the first female head coach in the German top flight.

The club parted ways with Steffen Baumgart after a recent defeat left Union 11th in the standings. Eta, previously coaching Union's U-19 team, expressed her commitment to securing crucial points. She also served as the first female assistant coach in the Bundesliga in 2023.
