Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo recaptured the world half marathon record Sunday, clocking an astonishing 57 minutes and 20 seconds in Lisbon.
The 25-year-old athlete bested the previous record by 10 seconds, reclaiming a title he last held in 2021. His performance in Lisbon marks his return to the pinnacle of the sport after a previous near-record run was not ratified.
Nicholas Kipkorir of Kenya finished second, with Gilbert Kiprotich securing third place.
