The United States has reportedly finalized its 26-player roster for this summer's World Cup, which the U.S. co-hosts. While the official announcement is expected after Memorial Day, sources say Brenden Aaronson, Mark McKenzie, Matt Turner, and Sebastian Berhalter-son of former coach Gregg Berhalter-are among the selections.
Gio Reyna, a polarizing figure since being sent home from the 2022 World Cup, is also expected to be named to Mauricio Pochettino's first World Cup squad. The 23-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder expressed his hope for the call-up, calling it "an honor" and "a dream to represent my country at the World Cup."
Tough roster decisions were made. Real Salt Lake standout Diego Luna, a key USMNT player in 2025 with four goals in 18 matches, did not make the final squad. Zavier Gozo of Real Salt Lake was also told he would not compete.
The USMNT opens its World Cup campaign on June 12 against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
