Formula One needs a surgical approach to rule changes, not drastic overhauls, according to Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff. He stated that stakeholders, including teams, engine makers, and F1 officials, are focused on improving racing and safety through constructive discussions.

Wolff stressed the importance of acting with a "scalpel and not with a baseball bat," learning from past erratic decisions that led to overcorrection. He expressed optimism that collaborative efforts would yield effective solutions.

Mercides has dominated the current season, securing wins in all three races. However, Red Bull's Max Verstappen has expressed dissatisfaction with the new regulations, hinting at potential departures if significant changes are not implemented.

Wolff acknowledged concerns about the new 50-50 split between electric and combustion power in F1 cars, which has also raised safety issues due to speed differentials. He urged all parties to act as "guardians of the sport" and avoid public criticism that could damage the sport's perception.
