Top NFL Draft prospect Zachariah Branch was arrested early Sunday in Athens, Georgia, facing two misdemeanor charges. The former Georgia wide receiver was booked into the Athens-Clarke County Jail on charges of obstructing public sidewalks/streets - prowling and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
Branch, projected to be a second-round pick, was released after posting $39 in bonds. He had attended Georgia's spring game on Saturday. Branch transferred to Georgia after two seasons at USC, where he recorded 811 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
His draft stock was boosted by an impressive 4.35 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He announced his plans to declare for the draft in January, expressing gratitude for his time with the Bulldogs.
