Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang has cemented his status as the 2024 VALORANT world champion following a dominant tournament run in Seoul. Despite acknowledging significant pressure from FUT Esports during the opening rounds, the EDward Gaming duelist maintained composure throughout a campaign that culminated in historic victory.

EDG secured China’s first international VALORANT title by defeating Team Heretics 3-2 in the VCT Champions 2024 grand final on August 25. The best-of-five series tested the Chinese roster to its limit before they claimed the trophy in South Korea.

ZmjjKK delivered one of the most statistically significant performances in esports history during the championship match. He recorded 111 kills across the five-map series, setting a new grand final record. This achievement earned him the Grand Final MVP award as voted by media and event talent.

This victory represents a major milestone for the Chinese VALORANT ecosystem. While the region has invested heavily in competitive infrastructure, EDG is the first team to convert that investment into global supremacy. ZmjjKK, who has been with the organization since 2021, now boasts career earnings exceeding $229,000.
