Apple unveiled the AirPods Max 2, launching in April at $549. The update replaces the 2020 model, now powered by the H2 chip first seen in AirPods Pro (2nd generation).

The new chip enables up to 1.5 times more effective active noise cancellation and a more natural Transparency mode through optimized digital signal processing.

New features include adaptive audio, which adjusts ANC and Transparency based on surroundings, and Conversation Awareness, which lowers volume when someone speaks to you.

The headphones now support Bluetooth 5.3, voice isolation for clearer calls, and live translation via Apple Intelligence. Available in five existing colorways.
