Anthropic's Claude Platform Hits General Availability on AWS

Anthropic launched its Claude Platform into general availability on Amazon Web Services, giving AWS customers direct access to AI tools through their existing accounts.

The platform includes the Messages API, Claude Managed Agents for autonomous multi-step tasks, real-time web search, code execution, and a files API. Billing is handled through AWS Marketplace and security via AWS IAM.

Amazon has committed $13 billion to Anthropic, including access to up to 5 gigawatts of Trainium compute capacity. Over 100,000 organizations already use Claude models on AWS Bedrock.

This positions Anthropic against OpenAI with Azure and Google with Vertex AI, offering a governed environment for enterprise AI deployments.
