Amazon's cloud unit's artificial intelligence revenue is now exceeding a $15 billion annual run rate, the company announced in the first quarter of 2026. CEO Andy Jassy stated that this figure represents the first direct financial return from Amazon's AI initiatives and is "ascending rapidly."
Jassy also noted that Amazon's overall cloud business growth is being hampered by industry-wide capacity constraints. Separately, the annual revenue run rate for Amazon's custom chip business, including its Graviton and Trainium processors, has surpassed $20 billion, doubling its previous reported milestone.
Demand for Amazon's chips is so high that the company anticipates potentially selling server racks to third parties in the future.
