Anthropic has raised $65 billion in Series H funding at a $965 billion post-money valuation, bringing the AI company within striking distance of a $1 trillion valuation.
The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital. Anthropic says the funds will be used for safety research, expanding compute capacity, and scaling products to meet rising demand for Claude.
Global enterprises are now deploying Claude in core operations, and individuals are using the AI assistant for everyday work. Since the Series G round in February, adoption has accelerated, with run-rate revenue crossing $47 billion earlier this month.
Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao said the funding will help meet surging demand, expand tools like Claude Code and Cowork, and continue investment at the research frontier.
The round included $15 billion from hyperscalers, including $5 billion from Amazon. Strategic partners Micron, Samsung, and SK hynix are participating with memory and chip technologies supporting Claude’s compute expansion.
Anthropic has significantly expanded compute capacity, signing agreements with Amazon for up to five gigawatts, Google and Broadcom for five gigawatts of TPU capacity, and SpaceX for GPU access.
Claude is now available on AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, making it the first frontier model across the three largest cloud platforms.
Earlier today, Anthropic launched Claude Opus 4.8, an upgraded flagship model with stronger coding, reasoning, and agentic capabilities. The company also plans to release its more advanced Mythos class models soon, after developing stronger cybersecurity safeguards.
