Actor and comedian T.J. Miller is taking a lighthearted approach to the growing conversation around artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry. Joking that an AI bot "replaced" him as host for a segment at the recent ETH Denver conference, Miller stated he is not concerned about AI taking his job as a performer.

"I am not afraid of losing," Miller told Decrypt, emphasizing his confidence in his ability to host and entertain.

However, Miller acknowledged the significant impact AI is having and will continue to have across various sectors. The rapid advancement of AI has spurred widespread discussions about potential job losses, particularly in white-collar professions. Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman recently warned that most professional tasks could be automated within two years.

While Miller dismisses AI as an immediate threat to his career, he raised concerns about people ceding too much control to automation. The ETH Denver event itself highlighted the intersection of AI and blockchain, with developers proposing AI agents for automated trading and identity management, a scenario reminiscent of Miller's former show, "Silicon Valley."

Miller credited "Silicon Valley" creator Mike Judge for accurately predicting cultural shifts, but noted that the current AI wave's potential impact surpasses anything previously depicted.
