Amdocs, the Nasdaq-listed Israeli software giant behind billing and IT systems for the world's largest telecoms, is cutting between 2,700 and 3,000 jobs. The move represents about 10% of its 29,000-person workforce.

This is the company's third major reduction in three years. Amdocs eliminated roughly 2,700 roles in 2023 and over 1,500 in 2024. If the current plan proceeds at the high end, total cuts will exceed 7,000 positions.

CEO Shimie Hortig, who took over on March 31, frames the restructuring as adaptation to the 'AI era.' Automation and AI tools are taking over software services and systems integration work at the core of Amdocs' business.

Financially, Amdocs reported Q2 fiscal 2026 revenue of $1.17 billion, up 3.9% year-over-year. The company also announced Tal Rozenfeld as new CFO, effective June 1, 2026.

The layoffs, first reported by Globes, will include hundreds of positions in Israel. Despite having a financial services division with fintech capabilities, Amdocs has made no public moves toward blockchain or crypto-adjacent products.
