Apple has officially ended software support for all Intel-based Macs. At WWDC, the company announced that macOS 27 Golden Gate, expected this fall, will not run on any Intel Mac, marking the completion of its transition from Intel chips to its own Apple silicon processors.

The following Intel Mac models are now obsolete for macOS updates:

  • MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, with four Thunderbolt ports)
  • iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020)
  • Mac Pro (2019)

Apple also confirmed that several iPads will not receive iPadOS 27, including the iPad mini (5th Gen), iPad (8th Gen), iPad Air (3rd Gen), and certain iPad Pro models.
