Anthropic, the company behind the AI model Claude, has raised over $30 billion in a Series G round led by Singapore's GIC and investment firm Coatue. Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan also participated.
The round values Anthropic at $380 billion, a staggering jump from $18 billion just two years ago. This rapid growth is among the largest private funding rounds in history.
The company is reportedly negotiating further funding that could push its valuation above $900 billion, setting the stage for a potential IPO by late 2026.
Anthropic also announced a $200 million partnership with the Gates Foundation to fund AI research in global health and education.
The participation of major Wall Street banks underscores a broader institutional view of AI as a structural shift, drawing parallels to the convergence of artificial intelligence and digital assets.
