The four-person crew of NASA's Artemis II mission executed a historic lunar flyby on April 6, photographing the moon from a distance of 250,000 miles.
During the maneuver, their Orion spacecraft passed behind the moon, cutting off all communication with Earth for approximately 40 minutes.
While the crew was out of contact, mission control in Houston monitored the situation, awaiting the spacecraft's re-emergence.
