Anthropic has locked in all the compute capacity of SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center, gaining access to over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs. The deal, announced Wednesday, immediately expands capacity for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, with higher API rate limits and doubled Claude Code limits.

This is the latest in a series of infrastructure partnerships for Anthropic, including agreements with Amazon, Google and Broadcom, Microsoft-NVIDIA, and a $50 billion U.S. initiative with Fluidstack. Anthropic also signaled interest in orbital AI compute with SpaceX.

The timing is strategic: SpaceX filed confidentially for an IPO in April, targeting a $1.75 trillion to $2 trillion valuation, with the roadshow set for June 8. Naming Anthropic as a compute customer strengthens SpaceX's AI infrastructure revenue story ahead of the listing.
