Amazon Web Services (AWS) reported significant power and connectivity issues impacting its UAE and Bahrain regions on Monday. The outage was triggered after "objects" struck an AWS data center in the United Arab Emirates, causing sparks and a fire that necessitated a power shutdown.

Two availability zones within the UAE were left without power. AWS confirmed a localized power issue affected another zone in the UAE region. The company has not confirmed if the incident is linked to regional geopolitical events.

While some recovery was reported earlier, customers are advised to utilize services in other regions. AWS stated that full restoration of power and connectivity is expected to take many hours.

Separately, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank reported technical issues affecting its platforms and mobile app, though a direct link to the AWS outage remains unconfirmed.
