Cate Blanchett launched the Human Consent Registry during a European Parliament event in Brussels. The free website allows anyone to control how AI systems use their personal attributes-name, image, voice, likeness, and movement.
"Your identity is your IP in the age of AI," Blanchett said. The nonprofit RSL Media, which she co-founded, built the tool to let users allow (with or without terms) or block AI use of their identity. It can be managed by individuals or third parties such as agents and managers.
The launch, attended by director Steven Soderbergh and MEP Eva Maydell, continues Blanchett's advocacy against unlicensed AI exploitation of creative works. RSL Media said the registry will eventually extend to protect works of art, characters, and brands.
