Anthropic’s Claude AI models are now running natively on Nvidia’s GB300 Blackwell Ultra systems through Microsoft Azure. The deployment finalizes a landmark alliance backed by $15 billion in combined investments and a colossal $30 billion compute commitment.
Microsoft is directing up to $5 billion into Anthropic, while Nvidia committed up to $10 billion, propelling Anthropic’s valuation to an estimated $350 billion. In return, Anthropic pledged to purchase $30 billion in Azure compute capacity and utilize up to one gigawatt of power from Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems.
The hardware performance validates the spending. Azure’s ND GB300 v6 virtual machines set a new industry benchmark, achieving inference throughput exceeding 1.1 million tokens per second per rack.
Claude is now available across all three major cloud providers: AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This ubiquitous presence eliminates infrastructure barriers for enterprises, though it intensifies a complex competitive landscape where every cloud provider is both a host and a rival in the AI model race.
Nvidia’s $10 billion investment creates a powerful flywheel.
