Citigroup has sharply increased its global artificial intelligence market forecast, now anticipating it to exceed $4.2 trillion by 2030. This upward revision is attributed to unexpectedly rapid enterprise adoption of AI tools for coding and automation.
The Wall Street firm projects that approximately $1.9 trillion of the total market value will stem from enterprise AI solutions. This marks a substantial increase from Citi's previous forecast of over $3.5 trillion globally, with nearly $1.2 trillion from enterprise AI.
Key to this growth is companies like Anthropic, which is demonstrating robust revenue expansion. Citigroup identifies Anthropic as a leader in enterprise AI, citing strong commercial traction in areas such as software development and agentic workflows. The company's deliberate focus on enterprise clients, with about 80% of its revenue coming from this sector, has provided a structural advantage.
Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate has reportedly surged past $30 billion as of April, signaling one of the fastest growth trajectories in the tech industry. The company has also secured significant computing capacity deals, including up to $40 billion from Google and as much as $25 billion from Amazon.
