Over 100 advanced humanoid robots are on display at a Hong Kong technology fair, demonstrating capabilities from boxing and dancing to visitor interaction using artificial intelligence and synthetic skin. The InnoEx tech fair features leading manufacturers like AgiBot, EngineAI, UBTech, and Unitree.
Unitree's G1 robot drew crowds by engaging visitors in boxing matches. At the Shenzhen DX Intech Technology stand, visitors experienced the robots' soft synthetic skin. These robots are already deployed in Chinese museums and government venues for guiding tours. Novautek presented robots with screen-based faces, envisioning a future where robots offer emotional support and teaching skills, learning and evolving through large model technology.
EngineAI demonstrated its PM01 robot performing flips and dancing, with plans for two new factories this year to scale mass production. The company suggests people might eventually prefer interacting with robots over human salespeople, citing robots' lack of bias. This push in robotics is part of China's broader technological competition with the United States, with Beijing prioritizing advanced technologies in its latest five-year plan. China had over 140 humanoid robot manufacturers and 330 models in 2025.
