EU Regulators Urged to Revoke VMware Partner Cuts

In January 2026, Broadcom terminated its VMware Cloud Service Provider program across Europe, leaving only a handful of selected partners. The move excluded most European cloud service providers from selling VMware products.

CISPE accused Broadcom of abusive pricing-up to 900% increases-and forced bundling, with commitments based on projected usage. The group called the actions an 'unfair coup de grâce.'

Broadcom denied wrongdoing, stating it remains committed to European partners and counters that CISPE is influenced by hyperscalers. The organization includes AWS and Microsoft as non-voting adherent members.

CISPE has appealed the European Commission’s approval of Broadcom’s $61 billion VMware acquisition to the European General Court, a case still pending.
