Japanese auto parts maker Denso is reportedly withdrawing its offer to buy chipmaker Rohm. The Nikkei business daily reported the move on Saturday, stating the acquisition failed to gain Rohm's support.

Denso's bid, made last month, aimed to bolster its control over power management chips critical for electric vehicles and data centers. Rohm, however, has been in discussions with Toshiba and Mitsubishi Electric regarding the integration of their power semiconductor businesses.
