Ecolab announced it will acquire CoolIT Systems from KKR for $4.75 billion in cash. The move targets explosive growth in AI-driven data centers demanding high-efficiency liquid cooling.
CoolIT designs and manufactures liquid cooling systems for hyperscale operators and chipmakers including Nvidia and AMD.
Ecolab plans to integrate CoolIT’s thermal engineering with its expertise in water, chemistry, and digital monitoring-creating a full-stack fluid management platform for next-gen data centers.
CoolIT is projected to generate $550 million in sales over the next 12 months. The deal closes in Q3 2026 and becomes EPS-accretive by 2028.
