The European Union is preparing to fine Google's parent company, Alphabet, a high triple-digit million euro amount for breaching the Digital Markets Act (DMA), according to Germany's Handelsblatt newspaper.
The fine, expected to be announced before the summer break, would be the highest ever imposed under the DMA.
The investigation, launched in March 2025, targets allegations that Google favors its own services in search results, violating local competition rules.
Both the European Commission and Google declined to comment on the report.
