Fortnite is set to return to the Google Play Store globally, Epic Games announced Wednesday. This move follows major revisions by Google to its app store policies, including reduced developer fees and increased flexibility for in-app transactions.

Google will now allow mobile app developers to utilize their own payment systems in parallel with Google Play's, and direct users to external websites for purchases. The tech giant also confirmed a reduction in in-app purchase service fees.

Fortnite was originally removed from Google Play in 2020 when Epic implemented a direct payment method, bypassing Google's system. This led to a legal dispute concerning fees and app distribution. A settlement was reached late last year, and Fortnite had previously returned to the U.S. Google Play Store in December.
