Google has significantly enhanced its free photo editing app, Snapseed, for iPhone users. The latest update introduces a fully integrated camera feature, providing advanced manual controls that are absent from Apple's native Camera app.

This new camera functionality allows users to adjust settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and focus. It also incorporates a selection of 11 classic film simulation filters, emulating styles from renowned brands like Kodak, Fuji, and Polaroid. Users can even save their custom edits as preset filters for future use.

For photographers seeking more granular control, the "Pro" toggle within the Snapseed camera interface unlocks these manual adjustments. The app also features controls for flash, zoom, and camera swapping, alongside access to the photo library and theme customization.

Post-capture, Snapseed offers a comprehensive suite of editing tools. Adjustments made via film presets can be further refined using sliders, layers, and an undo function. Users can choose to overwrite existing images or save them as new copies.

Notably, this advanced camera feature is exclusive to the iOS version of Snapseed. The Android version has not received a similar update, leading to a disparity in functionality between the two platforms.
