SpaceX came within 40 seconds of launching the first flight of its upgraded Starship V3 rocket Thursday, but a hydraulic pin on the launch tower's umbilical arm failed to retract, forcing a scrub. The countdown paused five times before the launch was called off, according to SpaceX’s Dan Huot.

Elon Musk stated that if the issue can be resolved overnight, another attempt could happen Friday at 5:30 PM CDT.

This flight would have been the first from a new launch pad at Starbase, Texas, and the first test of the Starship V3 design, featuring 39 Raptor engines, a redesigned propulsion system, larger grid fins, and a reusable hot staging ring.
