Google Search Goes AI-Native with Conversational Answers and Autonomous Shopping Agents

Google is replacing the traditional search results page with an AI-driven interface built on conversational answers and autonomous agents.

The centerpiece is AI Mode, now live in the US via Search and the Google app. It accepts text, voice, images, and PDF inputs. Instead of keyword matching, it uses "query fan-out" to break a question into subtopics and search them simultaneously, then synthesizes a coherent answer.

Then comes Deep Search, which executes hundreds of searches to produce fully cited reports in moments.

Project Mariner introduces "agentic capabilities" - AI that completes tasks on your behalf. The first major use case: agentic shopping checkout through Google Pay, where AI handles the entire purchase flow without the user ever visiting a merchant's website.

For the crypto industry, this is transformative. Google's AI Mode can answer queries like "best staking yields" or "how to bridge ETH to Arbitrum" without sending users to any website, collapsing the top-of-funnel acquisition strategy for projects, media outlets, and comparison sites.
