Marketing professionals now have access to a new platform designed to adapt to their evolving needs. Kana Intelligence has secured $15 million in seed funding, led by Mayfield, to build a suite of flexible AI agents.

These AI agents aim to automate tasks such as data analysis, audience targeting, and campaign management, while crucially maintaining human oversight. The platform is built by founders with significant experience in the marketing technology sector, having previously founded startups acquired by Microsoft and Salesforce.

Kana's "loosely coupled" AI agents are designed to work collaboratively with human marketers. Users can customize these agents, which integrate with existing marketing software to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. For example, agents can analyze marketing briefs, identify target audiences, and refine campaign strategies by pulling data from company inventory and research.

The AI agents also monitor campaign performance, optimize in real-time, and manage reporting. Kana positions itself as an alternative to generic marketing tools, offering custom agentic applications that address specific challenges efficiently.

Key to Kana's approach is mandatory human oversight. Marketing professionals supervise AI agents, approve actions, provide feedback, and adjust parameters. The platform also offers synthetic data generation to enhance existing data and accelerate agent testing.

Kana addresses the "tool soup" problem facing marketing teams by providing customizable AI agents with human accountability. This approach could redefine the relationship between marketing professionals and AI systems, moving towards more integrated and accountable automation.

With the new funding, Kana plans to expand its product and engineering teams and scale its go-to-market operations.
