Elon Musk is set to address employees at Dutch chip equipment giant ASML regarding Terafab, his ambitious plan for a massive semiconductor manufacturing facility. The virtual appearance coincides with the expected pricing of the SpaceX initial public offering, which analysts project could be the largest in history.
Musk will outline his strategic vision for artificial intelligence, robotics, and space exploration during the internal technology conference. ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet recently confirmed active discussions with Musk concerning Terafab. This initiative positions the European market leader as a critical supplier for Musk’s expanding hardware ecosystem.
The Terafab project involves collaboration with Intel and aims to supply chips for both SpaceX and Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robots. An initial development phase in Texas will focus on producing lithography masks to rapidly prototype logic and memory chips. This integration signals Musk’s deeper entry into the global semiconductor supply chain.
Musk publicly endorsed ASML earlier this month, calling it arguably Europe's greatest company. Industry observers note that securing ASML’s advanced lithography tools is essential for the Terafab roadmap. The partnership underscores the convergence of space technology and domestic chip manufacturing ahead of SpaceX's market debut.
