Nvidia, a leader in AI computing, has chosen Montreal-based Ciara Technologies to build AI servers within Canada. Ciara Technologies, a division of Hypertec Group, is now the first Canadian Nvidia OEM Partner to manufacture systems domestically.
This partnership will provide enterprises, researchers, and public institutions with a secure, domestic infrastructure for their AI needs. Simon Ahdoot, CEO of Hypertec Group, stated, "AI infrastructure is now strategic infrastructure." He added that this collaboration strengthens Canada's capacity for innovation and global competitiveness with locally built, high-performance systems.
Hypertec gains access to Nvidia's engineering resources, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps. The initiative is projected to generate significant economic activity and create high-skilled jobs across various sectors. Eric Dahan, Nvidia's country director for Canada, highlighted Canada's advanced AI ecosystem, noting that Hypertec's local production will power innovation in healthcare, financial services, agriculture, manufacturing, energy, and technology.
