Nvidia Corp. has acquired Kumo AI Inc., a four-year-old startup specializing in predictive AI models for businesses. The deal, already finalized, was reported by Fortune and The Information, though terms were not disclosed.
Kumo AI's models are designed to make highly accurate business predictions by mapping data relationships through graph neural networks. Instead of building complex pipelines, companies can plug Kumo's models into data warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks and use SQL-like queries to get answers to questions such as “will this customer churn?”.
Founded in 2021, Kumo AI raised $37 million from investors including Sequoia Capital. Its customers include Reddit, DoorDash, and UK grocer J Sainsbury. Co-founders Vanja Josifovski, Hema Raghavan, and Jure Leskovec have already transitioned to Nvidia.
The acquisition is part of Nvidia's recent string of AI startup purchases, including a reported $20 billion deal with Groq and a $75 million acquisition of Illumex.
