SEOUL - Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and SK Hynix chairman Chey Tae-won are set to announce a cooperation plan on Monday, as Huang warns the global memory shortage will persist for "quite a few years."
A spokesperson for SK Hynix confirmed the plan, following a report by Newsis. Huang added that Nvidia may make announcements with SK on Monday, noting the companies are working across industries including AI supercomputers, CPUs, PCs, and robotics.
"The whole industry supply chain - everything from wafers to packaging to silicon photonics - everything's in short supply because the demand is so high. It is going to persist for several years," Huang told reporters.
Huang met with Chey, SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung, and other SK executives over fried chicken and beer - known as "chimaek" - at a Seoul restaurant.
