OpenAI Secures $110 Billion at $730 Billion Valuation

OpenAI has secured a $110 billion funding round, valuing the AI research lab at $730 billion. The investment includes $30 billion from SoftBank, $30 billion from NVIDIA, and $50 billion from Amazon, which also enters a strategic partnership.

The capital injection will expand AI infrastructure to meet soaring demand for OpenAI's products. ChatGPT boasts over 900 million weekly active users and more than 50 million subscribers, with corporate adoption reaching nine million paying users. Codex, the AI coding assistant, now has 1.6 million weekly users.

The expanded NVIDIA deal grants OpenAI access to significant inference and training capacity. This new valuation enhances the OpenAI Foundation's capacity for philanthropic initiatives, including health research and AI resilience.
