Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg has designated Palantir's Maven artificial intelligence system as an official program of record for the U.S. military. This decision will allow for its widespread adoption across all military branches and ensure stable, long-term funding.

Maven, a command-and-control software platform, analyzes battlefield data to identify targets and has been instrumental in thousands of strikes against Iran. The designation as a program of record will take effect by September, as outlined in Feinberg’s memo, which also orders the transfer of Maven oversight from the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency to the Pentagon’s Chief Digital Artificial Intelligence Office within 30 days.

Feinberg emphasized the need to integrate AI into military strategies to maintain an edge over adversaries.

Palantir's stock has surged due to these contracts, with a market value now nearing $360 billion.
