Robinhood has introduced Agentic Trading, a new beta feature allowing users to connect third-party AI agents to a dedicated brokerage account. Using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), agents from platforms like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can query portfolio data, place trades, and execute strategies autonomously.

Users pre-load a separate account, define permissions, and set automation levels-from simple balance checks to complex portfolio rebalancing and price-triggered orders. Robinhood emphasizes that risk assessments are informational only, and users retain full responsibility for all trades executed by the AI.

The company already offers Cortex, an AI assistant for research and action prompts, to Gold subscribers. Together, these tools signal a layered AI strategy: Cortex for guidance, Agentic Trading for execution. This development brings automated portfolio management-traditionally reserved for expensive software or advisors-to retail investors.
