Roche has deployed over 3,500 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs to supercharge its drug discovery pipeline - the largest known AI compute investment in pharmaceutical history.

The Swiss biotech is leveraging this computational power for molecular simulation, clinical trial design, and accelerating R&D across its pipeline. The move positions Roche to challenge Eli Lilly’s leadership in GLP-1 obesity drugs, including tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound).

While Lilly leads commercially with blockbuster revenues, Roche offers stronger valuation metrics and a strategic bet on AI-driven innovation to close the R&D gap.
