Tata Electronics and ASML, the Dutch leader in advanced lithography machines, have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop India's semiconductor ecosystem. The agreement focuses on a new 300 mm semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, representing an investment of roughly $11 billion.
ASML will supply advanced lithography tools and solutions for the facility. The partnership also includes training local talent and strengthening the semiconductor supply chain within India.
The Dholera fab is set to be India's first commercial 300 mm semiconductor front-end facility. Chips produced here will target automotive, mobile, and AI applications.
The signing was witnessed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten, highlighting the strategic importance both governments place on semiconductor supply chain resilience.
