Google is now rolling out "Ask Maps," a new AI-powered feature for its Maps application. This feature allows users to ask complicated questions and make specific requests to find locations.

Instead of generic searches, users can ask for places that match a series of specific criteria. For instance, one example query is: "My phone is dying-where can I charge it without having to wait in a long line for coffee?" The AI can analyze information from over 300 million locations and consider user reviews and past searches.

Powered by Google's Gemini AI, the feature aims to provide highly contextual results. Users could ask for a restaurant with availability for four people at 7 p.m., considering dietary restrictions and proximity to a specific venue. The feature is currently rolling out to iOS and Android users in the U.S. and India.
