Uber is launching its first commercial drone delivery service in Europe, beginning in Ireland.
The rideshare giant is collaborating with Manna, a drone operator already delivering small items like pharmaceuticals and food in Dublin and Cork within three minutes.
This partnership aims to create the world's safest, fastest, and most sustainable delivery infrastructure. Drone delivery promises a future where essentials arrive in minutes, not hours.
Manna has completed over 250,000 drone deliveries in Europe and previously partnered with JustEat Takeaway.com. The company has also conducted tests in Finland and Texas.
Other companies, including Alphabet's Wing and Aviant, are also active in the European drone delivery market. Amazon had previously cancelled a drone delivery program in Italy due to regulatory challenges.
