The United Nations Secretary-General has issued a stark warning about the pace of artificial intelligence development.
Antonio Guterres stated that AI is being deployed faster than anyone, including its own creators, can keep up with. He made the remarks at the first-ever government-level global dialogue on AI in Geneva.
Guterres highlighted that this technology can reshape economies, sway elections, and tilt security balances. He called for globally harmonized rules to mitigate potential risks, with a particular emphasis on protecting children.
