Vertiv is building a new factory in Johor, Malaysia, to meet surging demand for AI infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region. The facility is expected to be fully operational by the first quarter of 2026.
The plant will produce critical equipment for modern AI workloads, including coolant distribution units for liquid cooling, power management systems, and modular prefabricated data center structures.
Johor's strategic location near Singapore provides a cost-effective alternative for hyperscale data center operators needing capacity. Local production cuts delivery times for orders and is expected to create up to 500 skilled jobs.
Liquid cooling has become essential as AI training workloads require higher power densities than traditional air cooling can support. Vertiv's expansion positions it to capture growing demand and reduce exposure to global supply chain disruptions.
