Mobile giant Vodafone has announced a strategic partnership with Amazon's Project Kuiper satellite network. This collaboration aims to connect 4G and 5G mobile masts in remote regions of Europe and Africa.

Amazon Kuiper will provide high-speed satellite links, offering up to 1 Gbps download and 400 Mbps upload speeds. This service will connect Vodafone's network to masts in challenging locations, significantly reducing the need for costly fiber optic installations.

The rollout is slated to begin this year in Germany and other European countries, with a subsequent expansion across Africa via Vodafone's subsidiary, Vodacom.

Amazon Kuiper currently has over 200 satellites operational in orbit, with hundreds more prepared for launch.
