Uber Technologies has signed a multi-year partnership to deploy Zoox's purpose-built robotaxis on its platform. This marks Zoox's first venture with a third-party ride-hailing service.

Zoox has been expanding operations, with limited services in Las Vegas and a pilot program in San Francisco. The company plans to expand testing to Dallas and Phoenix, and launch a fleet operations command hub in Arizona.

This deal joins a wave of partnerships between ride-hailing platforms and autonomous vehicle developers. Uber currently offers rides with 25 autonomous vehicle technology developers in cities like Phoenix, Austin, Atlanta, and Dubai, aiming for global expansion by 2026.

The new partnership with Zoox is slated to launch in Las Vegas this summer, with Los Angeles following by mid-2027. Zoox's robotaxis will be accessible via both the Zoox app and the Uber platform.

Founded in 2014 and acquired by Amazon, Zoox features a unique, steering wheel-less design. The company has logged over one million autonomous miles and served more than 300,000 riders.
